Cozy Sideline Knit Balaclava - PDF

Regular price$12.00

❄️ Cozy Sideline is a knit balaclava pattern worked by holding two worsted weight yarns together, creating a tweed-like, one-of-a-kind fabric with every skein pairing. Part hood, part cowl, all cozy.

✨ Features

  • Full written instructions
  • Video tutorial support for foundational techniques
  • Short row shaping for a fitted top panel
  • I-cord casing and drawstring for a customizable fit
  • Worked bottom-up, from neck to hood

🧵 How It's Made

You'll cast on at the neck and work in the round through a ribbed brim, then switch to working back and forth in rows as the face opening and hood take shape. Short rows build the flat top panel, tapering the piece to a neat close. Once the body is finished, you'll pick up stitches around the face opening to knit an i-cord casing, then knit a separate i-cord drawstring to thread through it for an adjustable, secure fit.

💖 Why You'll Love It

This one's meditative in the best way. Two strands held together and a simple stitch pattern mean your hands settle into rhythm fast, while the real payoff is watching the colors shift and blend as you go, no two pairings knit up quite the same.

📏 Sizing

One size fits most adults. Circumference: 26½" [67.5 cm] around the head before the face opening. Height: 19½" [49.5 cm], not including the flat top center panel.

🧶 Yarn + Materials

Sample knit in Red Heart Roll With It Melange (100% Acrylic, CYCA #4 worsted, 5½ oz / 150 g, 389 yd / 356 m per ball). Uses 1 ball each of two colors, held together throughout.
